About Oivi

Oivi is an ambitious and young medtech company developing a technology to overcome a huge challenge that impacts the lives of millions of people with diabetes. Our vision is to bring to market a low-cost artificial intelligence enabled fundus camera and automated diagnostics platform for early screening of Diabetic Retinopathy. Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Hardware Engineer to join our team! As a Hardware Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing hardware components in close collaboration with our software engineers to make sure the final product operates seamlessly. In this role, you will also prepare hardware specifications and assist with the verification process, developing and performing tests to ensure compliance and manufacture viability.

We are looking for someone who currently lives in Bangalore, India. It's not that it's important for us to hire people who live in a particular location, but this particular role needs access to users and market segments in India and so it matters where you live. However, you should be open to travelling to Norway when appropriate.

The salary is negotiable and dependent on experience.

We need someone who can start as soon as possible and ideally work full-time. Both freelancers and those looking for a permanent position are welcome to apply. 

Responsibilities

  • Requirement Capture, Architecture Design, Component Selection, Schematic Design, Simulation,
  • PCB Design Co-Ordination, PCB Design Verification, PCB Fabrication Support, Assembly Support.
  • Take Sole Responsibilities on Board Bring-UP, Integration, Final Testing and Production Support.
  • Troubleshooting and debugging performance issues
  • Working with vendors and hardware suppliers to implement new designs
  • Supporting the hardware engineering team
  • Providing technical support for hardware issues
  • Following industry-standard processes and procedures
  • Collaborating with other engineers

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in hardware engineering
  • Familiarity with a wide range of hardware devices, High speed design interfaces, MIPI, USB, DDR2/3, Ethernet etc
  • Preferred Tools: OrCAD/Cadence Allegro/ Simulation Tools
  • Good Knowledge on Power Supply Designs. DC/DC / SMPS Design.
  • Development of product in co - ordinating with PCB and mechanical CAD, signal integrity, thermal and power design
  • Understanding Standard Specification and requirement extraction from specification.
  • Must have knowledge on usage of Oscilloscope, Logic & Protocol Analysers, other Test and Measuring devices
  • Strong understanding of embedded software development
  • Should be able to generate Test Specifications for PCB testing based on interfaces.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving/multi tasking skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Good to have knowledge on ISO13485, Regulatory compliances
